MELISSA DUNNE
FOUNDER & TEACHER
Melissa’s passion for dance is contagious! She has been teaching dance for over 20 years and loves to see people of all ages enjoying and expressing their creativity through dance.
Melissa achieved a double degree from UNSW (Bachelor Arts (Dance)/Bachelor Education majoring in theatre and performance studies. She studied under some of Australia’s leading choreographers.
Melissa spent her early teaching years at Stella Maris College helping her students excel in HSC dance and Rock Eisteddfod. She has also spent a number of years teaching dance in private studios across Sydney before opening the doors to Local Dance Co in 2017.
Melissa has created Local Dance Co Balmain as a platform to share her love and knowledge of dance. To create community amongst other creatives in Balmain and the surrounding suburbs and to spread the love of dance and movement.
